About Wendy C. Reyes

Hi, I’m Wendy C. Reyes, and I’m truly glad you’re here. Whether you found me through a search, received a recommendation from a friend, or just needed a comforting space after a long day, welcome to my corner of the internet. Here, real conversations, gentle humor, and honest support for women over 40 are not only welcomed but celebrated. I’m a cheerleader for real women, a reformed overthinker, and your permission slip to embrace wellness in a way that is honest, joyful, and refreshingly low-pressure. My mission is simple: to help women like us create a life that feels lighter, happier, and more beautiful, starting with habits so simple that you might even forget they’re “wellness” at all.

My Mission: Real, Refreshing Guidance for Real Women

Let’s face it: the world is overflowing with advice. “Wake up at 5 a.m. and meditate.” “Journal until your hand cramps.” I’ve read those articles too. But after 40, life becomes both simpler and more complicated. We don’t have time for advice that doesn’t work in real life or wellness routines that require a retreat and a personal chef to follow those lengthy nutritional recipes. That’s why I write the way I do: with warmth, humor, and a strong commitment to meeting you exactly where you are. My work is not just about providing information; it’s also about helping you feel seen, supported, and a little lighter on your health journey, especially on the days when “wellness” feels like just another item on our busy to-do lists. Why? Because, as a woman who has gone through my own long health journey toward a better, simpler lifestyle, I understand the challenges, including the healthy recipes that taste like regret.

A Little Bit About Me

Allow me to introduce myself beyond the author bio. I love taking long walks without a specific destination in mind. I create playlists that help me feel like my true self. My loved ones mean the world to me. I adore my people, spending time with them, and feel thankful every day that they are part of my life. I consider myself the luckiest because of their love.

I also cherish my beautiful home and the peacefulness of a weekend morning when I have nowhere to be. I am a recovering chronic overthinker (yes, I see you, 3 a.m. brain). I’m learning to say “no” without feeling the need to provide lengthy explanations. I’ve realized that special occasions should not be postponed; after all, my favorite dress deserves to be worn on any ordinary Wednesday. I now believe that even a simple evening is worth celebrating.

I live in the New York City area, just across the Hudson River near the New Jersey waterfront. The views of the Manhattan skyline are stunning, and I enjoy taking long walks to explore my neighborhood while developing new wellness habits. I often visit the city to indulge my curiosity for culture, arts, music, beautiful architecture, outdoor events, and delicious food.

Why I Write (and Why I Wrote the Book)

My first book, “Wellness After 40 for Women: A Reinvention Plan for Stress Relief, Healthy Habits, Confidence & Vitality,” was born out of necessity. While I seemed to be managing my life beautifully on the outside, I felt disconnected on the inside. I had become very efficient yet somewhat lost; I was so focused on supporting everyone else that I had misplaced parts of myself along the way. I searched for an honest book that addressed women’s real lives, one that resonated with me authentically. I wanted a book that wouldn’t demand an overnight transformation or promise that the journey would be easy or glamorous. Instead, I sought something real and practical, filled with humor, because sometimes laughter makes everything simpler and more manageable. I wanted practical advice presented in a fun, relatable way.

When I couldn’t find exactly what I needed, I decided to write it myself. I used my own health journey as the foundation and became my own test subject. My hope is that this book reaches you in the same way I needed it to reach me at that moment: as the voice of a gentle, practical, and even funny friend, rather than a drill sergeant or a motivational poster.

What You’ll Find in My Work

If you’re looking for rigid plans, quick fixes, or lectures on all the things you’re doing wrong, you won’t find that here. Instead, I offer something softer and, I hope, much more useful:

  • Practical encouragement that respects your real life, including its messy, exhausting, and hilarious moments.
  • Honest conversations about stress, habits, boundaries, confidence, and identity after 40.
  • Relatable stories that remind you that you’re not alone; if I’ve felt it, chances are you have too.
  • Step-by-step routines that are easy to try, easy to adjust, and easy to forgive yourself when life gets in the way.
  • A voice that feels like a friend, never perfect, always real, and always on your side, rooting for you.

I believe that the years after 40 can be some of the richest, clearest, and most honest years of your life. Not because everything gets easier, but because you finally grow tired of performing a version of yourself designed to keep everyone else comfortable. You get to reclaim your time, your energy, and your right to say “no” without an extended explanation, because “no” is “no.”

My Philosophy: You Don’t Need to Become Someone New

Here’s what I know for sure: You don’t need to become someone new; you simply need to stop diminishing who you already are. My books and articles are based on the belief that sustainable change comes from small, honest choices rather than from drastic overnight reinventions. I believe that personal growth should feel both achievable and enjoyable, and that wellness can be both practical and playful. Self-improvement should never come at the cost of self-acceptance. Life after 40 isn’t about working harder; it’s about living more authentically.

What Readers Can Expect (and Why You’ll Want to Stay)

When you read my work, you can expect to find:

  • Solutions with a side of humor: Because sometimes, what you need is a laugh, not a lecture.
  • Gentle, actionable advice: Steps you can take today, not just “someday.”
  • Zero pressure, zero shame: Personal growth isn’t a competition.
  • A sense of community: Through my articles, book, and online spaces, you’ll find a personal story about the same journey, figuring things out, and celebrating progress in all its forms.

I want my website to be a place you return to, not just for information, but for the comforting realization that you’re not expected to be perfect.

Fun Facts (Because Life Is Too Short Not to Play)

  • I have a not-so-secret love for creating playlists and dancing.
  • I firmly believe that a good snack can fix almost anything.
  • I used to be devoted to the green smoothie “detox” lifestyle, but I realized that life is too short for drinks that I might regret at the moment of my death while watching the video of my life. Especially kale. I’m also looking at you, arugula. Those two are not making it into my video.
  • My favorite way to unwind is to enjoy soft lighting, grab a book, play gentle music, or write while ignoring my phone.
  • I collect videos, movies, and TV series that make me laugh or inspire me to appreciate life. I no longer have time for sad stories, as life provides those by default. Instead, I seek inspirational stories that spark curiosity and offer moments of delightful enrichment, reminding me that life is short and there is still so much beauty I have yet to see.

A Note to Readers

This website is growing, just like the community and the work it’s here to support. I’m building this space to be a home for all of my books, created with women after 40, and their next beautiful chapter, in mind.

If you’re new here, I encourage you to begin with the free articles; they are brief, practical, and engaging. If you’re looking for a more in-depth exploration, consider checking out my book, available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats. Feel free to browse around; whether you choose to read through the categories or learn more about the book, I hope you make yourself at home. This is your corner of the internet.

Ready to Reinvent Your Next Chapter?

Wellness After 40 for Women: A Reinvention Plan for Stress Relief, Healthy Habits, Confidence & Vitality is more than a book; it’s an invitation to claim your time, your peace, your confidence, and your joy. Thank you for being here, for reading, and for believing that your best years are still ahead of you.

I am currently in the process of writing my second book. Stay tuned for updates.
