I’m in the process of renovating my bedroom. The walls are painted, just a fresh coat is needed. Since I’m keeping the old wall color because I still vibe with the color, it’s a mix gray and green. Soothing and happy at the same time. And forever, my favorite bedroom color.
I got new art for my walls that need to be framed. The old mirrors will be reassigned to a new location around the room to bring more natural light. More plants. Of course, I need more plants. I’m in love with the modern wall lamp for my side table, but now I don’t know how to install it. It doesn’t need electric wires, just a screwdriver, but I’m not handy with tools.
As a matter of fact, my lefthanded self makes me dangerous near handy tools. I survive thanks to YouTube videos. My dad used to help me with those things, but now that he is sick, I’m trying to teach myself how to be handy. It will take time, probably years. But I’m slowly learning. I hate asking for help.
Winter is coming, and I’m working from home. I decided to invest in a beautiful corner space to work and improve concentration. I settled on remodeling the window area of my bedroom as my “home office.” My new desk is on its way, which means that my bed was too big and taking too much space. So I decided to downgrade the size of my bed and ordered a size smaller.
A Mom’s Advice
I told my mom about the downgrade of my bed’s size, and you won’t imagine the whole conversation that came after such news. My mom is deeply worried that I downgraded my bed. She prefers the contrary; she wants me to buy a much bigger bed that I could find on the market. Ha!
It was a long conversation. I had no choice other than to promise mom that I will repurchase a bigger bed later in life, but this is what works for me right now. Don’t you love mothers, and how straightforward they are? Mine has no filter. I adore her. Ha!
Back to decoration, I also want to remodel my closet. I want to do wallpaper inside, something girly. Also, to add up light and more storage. I don’t need to buy new clothes at the moment. I have plenty of winter clothing and shoes. But sometimes, I don’t realize how much clothing I have because it is not visual; everything is hidden. I’m trying to develop ways to help me stay organized while also allowing me to see what I have and for easy access. City problems, right? The perks of living at an apartment.
The first thing to arrive will be the new bed and desk. I will slowly share the process as I finish a project and create a post as soon as I complete each corner. This will be fun.
